Quality grades were few outside the traditional national schools. In Laikipia, Ndururumo High School’s Simon Mwaura had 81 points while Gidraf Mureithi and Charles Kariuki had 80 points each. Also producing the best performers in the A- category included schools such as Kisima Academy, Kiambu High School, Mugoiri Girls, Mahiga Girls, Chogoria Girls, Chogoria Boys, Thika High School, St Francis Mangu, Kagumo High, Nyeri High School, Nyahururu and Kangaru School.
