Wellingtonians are being warned to expect a weekend of delays while a major central city thoroughfare remains closed. Jervois Quay closed on Thursday night, and will not reopen until 6am on Tuesday morning, to allow Wellington Water to repair a broken stormwater pipe. Wellington City Council spokesperson, Richard MacLean​, said Friday had gone pretty much as they had expected, with heavy traffic throughout the city centre. Wellington Water was unable to be reached for comment for an update, but a Facebook post on Friday afternoon suggested the crews were making good progress.
