The arrival of a new community Garda in Drogheda who is of the Muslim faith has been warmly welcomed by other members of the Muslim community in the town. Dr Jamal Nasser said she was a wonderful asset to the town and to the community. 'It is very important to see a Garda representative, and Garda Zalli will act as the liaison guard for the Muslim community here in town.' 'Garda Zalli met with Dr Jamal Nasser after Ramadan as the liaison Gaurd to enhance the sevrice within An Garda Siochana. 'Garda Zalli aims to build a strong and supportive relationship with the Islamic community by assiting with crime prevention through community alerts and working with other social agencies in the area.
