Weather warning for thundery downpours despite warm temperaturesDon’t put away the brollies and boots just yet. Cork has basked in some well-deserved sunshine this week but Met Éireann are warning of a dramatic change on Saturday tonight. It has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Cork and two other counties and says ‘heavy thundery downpours are expected at times Saturday evening/overnight’. The warning comes into force at 9pm and is in place until 6am on Sunday for Cork, Waterford and Wexford. Met Éireann is predicting it will become even warmer over the coming days as continental air continues to feed in across Ireland.
