The movie mogul was formally charged, slapped with an electronic tag and then bailed - after handing over $1million in cash as a bond. Manhattan district attorney Cyrus R Vance Jr said in a statement: "Today's charges reflect significant progress in this active, ongoing investigation. "Harvey Weinstein intends to plead not guilty to charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct", his lawyer has said in a statement outside court. More than 70 women have accused the co-founder of the Miramax film studio and Weinstein Co of sexual misconduct, including rape, with some allegations dating back decades.
