Forecasters say most South Islanders will have a fine start to the long weekend, a "blip" in proceedings with a low pressure system bringing some rain by Easter Sunday, and then conditions becoming fine again on Easter Monday. WeatherWatch head forecaster Philip Duncan said the outstanding weather system leading up to Easter was a 5000km wide area of high pressure stretching north-south from about Fiji to within a few hundred kilometres of the Antarctic.
