Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Issack Hassan has said he is ready to accept any political settlement between Jubilee and Cord on the Commission's future. Cord wants the nine commissioners out of office before next year's election. Hassan called on the political players to reach an agreement faster so as to enable the Commission plan for 2017 general election adequately. His recent comments shows the commissioners have softened their earlier stance that they will not resign despite pressure from Cord. The IEBC boss at the same time pleaded with the government and opposition not to disband the body, saying it would negatively affect 2017 polls.
