A 22-year-old Waterloo man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash Thursday morning in Petersburg. Waterloo Regional Police tweeted that Notre Dame Drive was closed between Snyder's Road and the railroad tracks, just west of Kitchener. Police say the man was driving his 2003 Infiniti car south on Notre Dame Drive around 3:30 a.m. when he veered off the road, hit a tree and snapped a utility pole. He suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital. Notre Dame Drive is expected to be closed until about noon on Thursday.
