Uisce Éireann said it is working to restore normal water supply to customers on the Castlerea Public Water Supply following power outages caused by Storm Isha. Power has been restored to Castlerea Water Treatment Plant, but it warned that some customers are expected to continue to experience water outages and low pressure until the network fully recharges. As a result of the restrictions, customers on the Castlerea Public Water Supply may experience reduced pressure and/or outages. “These nighttime restrictions are necessary to help us ensure customers have a daytime supply tomorrow,” he said. Uisce Éireann is responsible for delivering public drinking water and wastewater services for the people of Ireland.
