In a statement released on Tuesday, the Coalition Against Corruption (CAC) pointed out that the Department of Finance (DoF) seems “unconcerned” about corruption in the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Bureau of Customs (BoC). Despite President [Rodrigo] Duterte’s declared war on corruption, the DoF has not shown any visible initiative to curb corruption in these two agencies,” it said. On Sunday, the President ordered the military to take over the Customs bureau days after sacking all officials of the agency. “Secretary Dominguez, are you still marching in cadence with the President in the war on corruption?,” the CAC said.
