The arrestees are: alleged rapist Nasir Mia, 25; Firoze Alom, 45; Khorshed Alom, 45; Anwar Hossain, 45; Monir Hossain, 46; and Arifur Rahman, 35. According to police and case documents, a minor girl, 14, was raped by Nasir Mia, a tenant of the same building, on Sunday. After the incident became public knowledge, a certain influential quarter put pressure on the victim’s family to marry the girl off to Nasir. The girl was then reportedly forced to marry Nasir Mia the same night.
