TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said combined international and domestic markets are projected to generate 30.4 billion baht in tourism revenue during the "Maha Songkran World Water Festival" in 2026, up 6% year-on-year. However, TAT is monitoring new bookings in May to assess whether the situation is affecting short-haul travellers' decisions. The agency has a remaining budget of 170 million baht from the Summer Blast programme, a subsidy for chartered and scheduled flights and incentive groups.
