The incidence of breast cancer is increasing in India. What is required today in the battle against breast cancer is developing an effective and affordable approach to early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Towards this end, Chennai Breast Centre, headed by Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna, and Penn Nalam, an NGO, headed by Radhika Santhanakrishnan, have come together to launch the Chennai Breast Cancer Research Foundation (CBCRF) Hospital. The tertiary non-profit breast cancer care facility will be a pioneer centre for research and development, training and capacity building in breast cancer care, said a release. The Foundation is committed to providing breast cancer care to the underprivileged, free of cost.
