More than 100 members of the community came to Lake Sumter Landing Market Square on Wednesday morning clad in sweaters, jackets and leggings and ready to learn tai chi. Moyer Recreation Supervisor Chris Arrowood said the goal of the event was to provide residents with the opportunity to get outside and do something different. “It’s a unique opportunity,” Arrowood said. “Not a lot of people know about tai chi, so this will bring more exposure to it.” Fish Hawk Recreation Supervisor Emily Andrews said the square events are something that change up people’s routines and offer new activities. “A lot of people get comfortable doing the same thing over and over again, so it’s something that changes their schedule,” Andrews said.
