Police said they have been able to get staff into position earlier than expected and residents can go home immediately. Wakefield residents were urged to stay ready and be ready to evacuate again at any time. Medically high-risk residents would not be able to return to Wakefield. "It's really encouraging to know that we're very close to Wakefield residents being able to return home."
