Waikato's Muslim community 10 months on from Christchurch

A Muslim leader doesn't want the first anniversary of the Christchurch mosque shooting to be sombre. DOMINICO ZAPATA/STUFF President of the Waikato Muslim Association Dr Asad Mohsin wants New Zealand to continue to build on partnerships that formed after the Christchurch mosque attack. Mohsin said it's been 10 months of growth for both the Muslim community and the country, particularly "when you start to think about what we went through and how far we've come". "It took a toll on us, not only as a Muslim community but it took a toll on the whole New Zealand community. "The community is more vigilant, the community is more involved, the youth is more involved and that is a very positive thing.
