Waha Oil completes new well producing 1,765 barrels a day

Waha Oil Co. said it completed drilling a new well that is producing an initial 1,765 barrels of crude a day, as Libya’s state-linked producer pushes ahead with expansion plans. The company said in a statement the Q125 well has entered production as part of a broader development program aimed at boosting output and improving recovery across its fields. Waha cited investments in modern engineering technology and tighter safety standards as key to the gains. The producer drilled 81 wells in 2025 — including oil, gas, water-injection and disposal wells — despite what it described as challenging operating conditions requiring round-the-clock coordination between field and engineering teams. Development drilling added more than 40,000 barrels a day of incremental capacity, lifting Waha’s average production to about 354,000 barrels a day this year, according to the company.
