However as the market matures and with competition coming out with cheaper and more value for money devices, it’s not surprising to see the demand for the iPhone is weakening. However could it get to the point where the iPhone might eventually become obsolete like Sony’s Walkman? That’s what a recent report from the Wall Street Journal seems to imply, where they say that just like the Walkman, the pager, the Palm Pilot, and Polaroid, the iPhone could possibly become obsolete one day. In a way that could also be said of Nokia who might have gotten in on smartphones a bit too late. Now this isn’t to say that Apple is in danger or that the iPhone is close to being obsolete, but it does bring up a good point.
