There’s one other important thing I wish more people realized and respected about volcanos. Not only are they a vital sign indicating the Earth is alive and well, they help keep us humble. Sometimes the venting is gradual, sometimes it is explosive, both of which we see happening right now in Hawaii. Its internal heat would grow and grow and the entire planet would eventually explode.
