Shukkur Alam, a student of the university’s Philosophy Department, was physically assaulted Morshedul Alam Rifat, student of Management Department and also a member of CU Chhatra League's “Bijoy” group, in front of Suhrawardy Hall on Sunday. Shukkur was also injured in his eye from the assault and given primary treatment for his eye injury at CU medical centre. Meanwhile, Disable Students Society of Chittagong University (DISSCU) staged demonstration in front of Suhrawardy Hall and declared 24 hour ultimatum to arrest the accused. Later, they called off the demonstration after the university proctorial body assured them of taking action regarding the incident.
