Visitor arrivals to HK drop almost 100pc in October: tourism board

The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced that there were about 7,800 provisional visitor arrivals in October, amounting to a year-on-year decrease of 99.8%. Overall from January to October of this year, arrivals were down 92.9 percent at 3.55 million from the same period in 2019, the Board added. The Board said Hong Kong and Singapore have both responded positively to the Air Travel Bubble, especially with bubble flights from Singapore to Hong Kong before the end of the month already fully booked. Pang Yiu-kai, chairman of the Board said, “We are actively gearing up to welcome back the first batch of Singaporean visitors this Sunday, working with the travel trade to provide more than 1,000 enticing tactical offers, covering hotels, travel packages and attractions.”
