Michelle Templeton and her son Liam Templeton, from Invercargill, celebrate completing their virtual duathlon. However, when the level 4 restrictions were announced on August 17, the club immediately started to think about making the event virtual. Since then, it has run two virtual duathlons, entry is free and club membership is not required. Southland Triathlon and Multispo/Stuff Kids and adults across Southland have been taking part in virtual duathlons to keep 'fit, healthy and sane' across lockdown. And the club hadn’t ruled out more virtual events' if lockdown was extended again.
