The High Court yesterday refused to stop the auctioning of Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu's Sh90 million house in Karen, Nairobi. Chanzu went to court to stop Equity Bank from auctioning the property over a Sh41.5 million debt. He argued that the statutory notice issued to him by the bank demanding Sh640 million was erroneous. Yesterday, High Court judge Mbogholi Msagha said he had not been persuaded by Chanzu's wife Jamila Oyoo that the property be preserved. Consequently, the judge directed the bank to issue a fresh statutory notice to Chanzu and proceed with the sale after the notice had lapsed.
