The government has no apologies for making eight politicians sleep in the cells for alleged hate speech. Addressing about 600 Kenyans in Botswana on Monday night, President Uhuru Kenyatta said he will not sit back and watch politicians “preach” ethnic hatred. On June 17, eight politicians were arraigned in court and released on bail for alleged hate speech after spending four days in the cells. Uhuru said Jubilee is focussed on uniting Kenyans and ensuring peace. “That is why for the first time, when they started going at each other, we did not pick calls, whether they were from Cord or Jubilee,” he said.
