Prime Minister Narendra Modi's last full budget is the Budget for Bharat - the poor, the farmers, and the marginalised. As the finance minister noted, the government is now moving "ease of doing business" to "ease of living" for the poor and middle class. The budget reduced the corporate tax for companies with turnover of up to Rs 250 crore to 25%. I am sure that the lower tax payout will encourage these companies to invest in R&D, technology and expanding their businesses. It has been my long-standing belief that India is a land of entrepreneurs and has the ability to create thousands of SMEs.I was, however, hopeful that the Budget will offer some relief for the natural resources sector.
