Vietnamese students from 5 provinces face admission ban at Australian university

According to several study abroad consulting firms in Vietnam, the University of Wollongong (UOW) has updated its admission policies for Vietnamese students, effective from August 15 until further notice. The institution will continue to implement the Genuine Student (GS) assessment process and require additional financial documentation for all provinces except Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang. Additionally, students from other provinces or cities (outside of the five high-risk areas) must still meet the GS assessment requirements and provide financial documents before receiving an offer letter. For cases where students are waiting for English proficiency test results like IELTS or PTE, the GS assessment will only proceed once the language criteria are met. The University of Wollongong is ranked 162nd globally and 12th in Australia, according to the QS World University Rankings 2024.
