Vietnam, Laos vow to deepen all-round ties, work toward $10bn trade

Photo: Vietnam News AgencyThe pledge was made during talks in Vientiane on Thursday between General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith. Beyond trade and investment, human resource development was identified as a long-term driver of economic cooperation. Lam reiterated Vietnam’s consistent support for Laos’ development goals, stressing that strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties would remain a priority as both countries implement their socio-economic development plans for the 2026-30 period. Following his visit to Laos, Lam left the country on Friday morning for Cambodia for a state visit at the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.
