Tiruchi Sankaran, mridangam exponent, being honoured in the city on Sunday. more-inNoted mridangam vidwan Tiruchi Sankaran was honoured with ‘TCM Lifetime Achievement’ award at a function organised by Trichy Carnatic Musicians here on Sunday. He had been honoured with awards by Sangeet Natak Akademi and received ‘Sangita Kalanidhi’ title. The annual honour is being presented to a senior vidwan since its inception five years ago. He dedicated the award to the world of percussionists in general and his mentors Palani Subramania Pillai and Poovalur Venkataraman.
