A Facebook Live video captured the terrifying moment when a couple were forced to jump out of their truck as it broke through frozen Lake Winnipeg. Ko'ona Cochrane and her partner were driving on the lake near Hecla Island, approximately 150 kilometres north of Winnipeg, when the couple approached a ridge on the ice. As they drove over it, their truck suddenly crashed through the ice. Cochrane said she was travelling across the frozen lake to do laundry at her mother's house in Peguis, Man. Immediately after falling through the ice, Cochrane said she called 911, who put her in touch with RCMP.
