(PTI)Lucknow: Allahabad University students on Tuesday set ablaze a government bus, two police jeeps and several motorcycles to protest the varsity's order to vacate the hostels during the summer vacation, the third instance of violence over the issue in as many years. But keeping in view the protest by the students, we have withdrawn the order," proctor Ram Sewak Dubey said. The order also stated that the hostels would be re-allotted to "genuine students" when they return from the summer vacation. Similar orders in the summers of 2016 and 2017 had provoked Allahabad University students to take law into their hands.
