more-inGovernment employees opposed to consequential seniority to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes employees and officers have sought an appointment with Governor Vajubhai R. Vala to urge him not to give his assent to the Bill, which was passed by both houses of the legislature recently. The Karnataka Extension of Consequential Seniority To Government Servants Promoted On The Basis of Reservation (To The Posts In The Civil Services Of The State) Bill 2017, which seeks to provide seniority to the SC/ST employees and officers, who get reservation under promotion policy, was passed at the Belagavi session. The Bill is now awaiting assent from the Governor. They contended that Section 3 and Section 4 of the Bill had been reintroduced. Section 9, a new entry, bars people from approaching the court, which is in violation of fundamental right to seek legal recourse, said Mr. Nagaraj.
