A video has now surfaced showing Aparna Yadav, younger daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, swinging to "Ghoomar", a song from "Padmavati". By publicly performing to a song from a film that has thrown many politicians in a tizzy, is the Yadav bahu sending a signal from the stage? Last week, the Dewas district education officer had issued a circular banning the song being played at school cultural programmes. Though the circular was later withdrawn it did raise a few eyebrows.Tongues are wagging that for Aparna Yadav this could be the vehicle to return to the public eye. Based on the "legendary" queen Padmavati, the film has drawn the ire of a number of groups for "historical" inaccuracies.
