The truck driver became frightened following the afternoon explosion in front of the Mae Tao Rim Moei School on Mae Sot-Rim Moei road in Tambon Tha Sai Luad in Mae Sot district. Fearing additional explosions, driver Sujin Meeyosprom quickly rushed drove the truck onto open land away from the road and alerted the police. Police and troops rushed to inspect the container that carried five used cars inside. The blast caused one of the cars to crash open the door of the container. The truck was carrying them from Laem Chaban port to a pier in Mae Sot to cross to Myanmar.
