Urgent review into sexual assault and violence against woman in Queensland

Queensland will review women's experiences of the justice system in dealing with sexual assault and violence. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the review comes amid a national push for systemic change to end sexual assault and violence against women. She says one in five Queensland women has experienced sexual violence since turning 15 and one in four has experienced violence from her partner. The Women's Safety and Justice Task Force, led by retired justice Margaret McMurdo, will examine women's experiences with the justice system. The task force is due to hand down its recommendations in October.
