Five University of Nairobi students from the Lower Kabete campus were arrested yesterday on suspicion of being involved in a series of robberies on Monday night. A resident who sought anonymity said the suspects have raided more than five homes in Lower Kabete. Police said three of the thugs are fourth year students, while the other two are in second year. Police boss Birgen Kiptoo said the suspects are on the police watch list following the increase of robberies in the area and its environs. “It is very disappointing that students whose parents think are busy pursuing their studies have turned into violent robbers and drug abusers,” he said.
