(File photo)A Timaru travel agent has been awarded close to $16,000 after the Employment Relations Authority ruled her employer was wrong to fire her for giving confidential information to a potential business partner. "Because of this action Flynn Travel commenced a disciplinary process with Ms Jarvis, which led to Flynn Travel suspending Ms Jarvis and then dismissing her," van Keulen said. "Flynn Travel stopped its negotiations with Ms Jarvis about the potential purchase of its business and then sold its business to another party." Van Keulen dismissed Jarvis' claim Flynn had breached her employment contract by not selling the business to her.
