Cliff Clements, retired publisher of The Baytown Sun and a former United Way board member in two communities, will begin work Monday as interim executive director for United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County. Clements will lead the daily administrative operations of the local United Way, while the United Way continues the process of seeking a permanent executive director. “I am looking forward to working with the great staff at the United Way,” Clements said. “As a long-term volunteer for different United Way agencies, I understand the mission of improving the lives of our citizens.”Information about the permanent executive director position is on www.unitedwaygbacc.org and applications are being received. “We expect to have a new, permanent executive director in place this fall, and we look forward to introducing that new leader to the community,” said Patti O’Neill-Burn, United Way board president.
