Union tornado: Remembering a good disaster

Harry Lee Poe (Photo: Submitted)Few sounds are quite as bone chilling as the sound of the siren announcing that a tornado is bearing down on Jackson. Students left Union for two weeks, but when they returned, the site of the old dorms was swept as clean as the breakfast table. Ten years later, it was good to hear the stories from the safe side of how everything turned out. Harry Lee Poe is the Charles Colson Professor of Faith and Culture at Union University. Readers can write to him c/o Union University, 1050 Union University Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.
