Tree of the Week showcases some of the biggest and most beautiful trees in the GTA, as compiled by Megan Ogilvie. Here, Ava Butler tells us about her family’s favourite tree that grows on their 10-hectare (25 acre) hay farm in Uxbridge Township. Our favourite tree, however, is the magnificent elm. She also remembered sitting under our big elm tree on hot summer afternoons, reading her favourite books with her black and white dog by her side. It’s no surprise, now, that David’s favourite species of tree is elm.
