KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): An unemployed man was charged in the Ampang Magistrate’s Court here Tuesday (Oct 22) with the murder of an 85-year-old woman last month. Sathiaraj is accused of having caused the death of the elderly woman at a house at Jalan Tasik Tambahan 2, Ampang, between 11.40am and 1pm, on Sept 19. The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction. He was alleged to have committed the offences on the same date, place and time under Section 376(1) and Section 377C of the Penal Code, respectively. Prior to this, the media reported that an elderly woman was found dead with her hands tied and head covered with a piece of cloth in her Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) apartment.
