JOHOR BARU: A suspected thief escaped incarceration and leapt from the third floor of a detention room at the Court here, on Monday. However, his bid for freedom was foiled as he suffered severe injuries upon landing on the ground floor of the Court complex at 12.15pm, and was instantly re-arrested by escort police. According to Bernama, the 30-year-old suspect suffered a cracked jaw and severe injuries to a thigh and a wrist, and was rushed to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment. Prior to the incident, the man, who has a criminal record, had been brought to Court for a remand extension. As the remand order was about to be read out, the suspect, who was seated in the centre of the room, slipped his handcuffs and instantly dashed towards a nearby window and leapt out.
