Underdog M'sian beach soccer squad stun by winning Busan Invitational

KUALA LUMPUR: The national beach soccer team achieved a rare feat by winning the Busan Invitational in South Korea on Sunday. Zaharim Yusof was the toast with a brace, while other goals were netted by Fakhruddin Mohamad, Riduwan Md Noor, Fakhrullah Mohamad and Ridhwan Zainal. Ridhwan was named the tournament's most valuable player, while Fahkrullah emerged as the top scorer with seven goals. The national beach soccer team are regarded as underachievers as they hardly make an impression in international tournaments. But this could change in the near future as the FA of Malaysia are planning to introduce a beach soccer league soon.
