Underage drinkers can easily buy alcohol from vends, bars, and pubs in the Capital, without furnishing any age proof, a latest survey done by non-profit group Community Against Drunken Driving (CADD) has revealed. "None of the agencies, including government liquor vends, bars, pubs, excise department, or police, check the age of consumers. A sample size of 6,000 residents was taken for the survey, of whom 3,976 were men and 2,024 were women. Meanwhile, the Delhi government's Excise Department claimed that "strict action" was taken in case of violation of rules regarding the sale of alcohol. "Bars and vends need to display the provision of 'no sale of liquor to underage persons'.
