Kelly is believed to have been concerned about some aspects of the regime under KennyAlan Kelly, the Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach who left the last international camp early, may not return to the job under the manager Stephen Kenny. Senior officials who spoke to both Kenny and Kelly received no indication that Kelly would return, even though it was their “hope” that he would do so. Kelly was one of about 15 people who were interviewed by senior FAI officials who were investigating the manager for his comments and the video shown to players before the friendly game against England at Wembley on November 12. Kelly left the camp several days after that game, commenting in a private statement that he was concerned about his health because he is asthmatic and there was Covid in the camp.
