KUALA LUMPUR: The 71st Umno general assembly which will raise its curtain tomorrow is set to gear up party members for the looming 14th general election. Umno executive secretary Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said as it would be the final assembly before the election, it was vital to motivate party members. “Party grassroots members must be well prepared as this will be the final assembly before we face the election,” he said. Rauf said the five-day assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) would instil a “winning mentality” in the delegates. Vendors from various government agencies and traders were also giving the final touches to ensure their booths were ready.
