Uluberia Lok Sabha seat in rural Howrah is one of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. Looking back, Hannan Mollah of CPI(M) won the seat eight times in a row from 1980 to 2004. In total, CPI(M) has won Uluberia ten times, Congress thrice and TMC in the last two elections. The assembly segments under Uluberia are Uluberia Purba, Uluberia Uttar (SC), Uluberia Dakshin, Shyampur, Bagnan, Amta and Udaynarayanpur. In 2014, TMC got 34, Congress 4 and BJP and CPI(M) won two seats each in the state.
