Emergency service crews are working to restore water supply to homes and businesses in Cork City this Sunday evening following a major burst to a water main. Uisce Éireann expects repair works to be completed by 1pm on Monday. Those affected have been asked by Uisce Éireann to use use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure. “We understand the inconvenience of this outage and we would like to assure customers that we are doing everything we can to restore the water supply as quickly as possible,” James Goulding, operations manager for Uisce Éireann in Cork City said. In this event, running the cold kitchen tap for several minutes will usually restore the water to a clear colour.
