In 2005 the European Investment Bank (EIB) opened one of its three representation offices in Africa, in Nairobi. Uhuru is also scheduled to meet with the executives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and to hold meetings with several other corporate leaders. UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim will also attend the EU event whose theme is 'Sustainable development goals in action: Our world, our dignity, our future'. The European Union is Kenya’s second largest development and trading partner and a significant source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and tourist arrivals. The President is also expected to hold closed-door meetings with Prime Minister Michel and His Majesty King Phillipe.
