President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga have just been to meet President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda at his farm. There were two big issues on the agenda – the choice of Raila as African Union chief executive and Uganda's access to the KPC pipeline. In September, Kenya stopped the Uganda National Oil Company from accessing Kenya Pipeline Company with the trumped-up excuse that UNOC was not licensed to sell fuel in Kenya. Uganda went to court in November to get that decision reversed since it brings in 90 percent of its fuel from Mombasa. And Uganda has not only got access to the pipeline but it has been agreed that KPC will extend the pipeline to Kampala and Kigali.
