The final game of a successful year for the U.S. women’s national team ended like so many others, with a 6-0 victory against Costa Rica at TIAA Bank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., on Sunday. Rose Lavelle assisted on first-half goals by Carli Lloyd and Morgan Brian for a 2-0 lead. Lynn Williams scored twice, Christen Press added another and Costa Rica had an own goal in the second half. The U.S. won the previous 14 games against Costa Rica, and the dominance continued in the fourth minute when Lloyd scored for the third time in two games. Costa Rica has two goals all-time vs. the U.S.
